Department of Youth Welfare in association with Department of Forests and Wild
life, Government of Kerala is planning to organize a monsoon camp – ‘monsoon
madness’ for selected 30 students of the University from 01st to 03rd July, 2011 at
Thoothampara, Nelliyampathy, Palakkad.
Monsoon is an ideal time to experience the nature. The camp is strategically
designed for the students that they can experience the best of nature. The primary
goal of the camp is to provide the students with an opportunity to immerse them
into nature and to get a better sense of understanding and appreciation about the
resources and deep beauty of nature. The camp will provide the fundamentals for
improvement, as well as teach sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork.
- Registration fee is Rs. 350/- Only (Rupees three hundred and fifty only)including food from first day night to third day lunch. Dormitoryaccommodation will be provided.
- Parents and camper must sign in the registration form.Follow the camp discipline, routines to make your trip an unforgettable onein the lap of nature.
- Carry lunch pack and drinking water for first day.
- Carry blankets, umbrellas, raincoats, hats etc.
- Forest trekking is not a picnic; it is a journey for study and experience.
- Attend the camp in an ‘open mind’. Campers should adjust with the food andaccommodation facilities available in the camp site.
- Carry only the essential items so that you can minimize the weight of therucksack.
- You should be physically fit, as trekking consumes a lot of energy andstamina.
- Smoking and drinking of alcohol is strictly prohibited
- Please bring eco-friendly clothes like cotton and linen, in subtle or camouflage colours. Avoid using clothes with bright and fluorescent colours.
- Never wear tight-fit jeans as it regulates the movement and becomes heavy when wet.
- Protect your feet by always wearing shoes; gym shoes are preferred at camp.
- Don’t bring valuable items like golden or precious jewellery, expensivemobile phones, MP3 players, etc. as these objects may get lost or ruined.
- Please avoid hearing loud music from electronic devices as it may createnoise pollution and disturb the birds and animals.
RESPECT other campers, staff members, their belongings and the natural environment.
Violation of camp rules will attract severe penalty
