Hi students,

You all know that the counseling  process is on the go..Many students are allotted to various branches , it is to be noted that the allotments in the gen category is somewhat filled within 1000 rank range.

  2. Many are asking the same refundable Question… only official staffs can answer the Question….. !

  3. We have no info on the refundabale issues…please ask abt this facility to the staffs before you pay and get the admissions…. !!

  4. Cheers!!I’ve got a couple of questions:

    1. Its in the guidelines that I need to buy the clothes for uniform on the day I’m admitted. Seriously, CUSAT has got a uniform??? (I’m more concerned about wearing it rather than having it. Is it so compulsory?)

    2. A couple of days ago, there was a newspaper report on mathrubhumi about CUSAT being upgraded to IIEST (ya, again!). As far as I know, it didn’t quite work out the last time.Even though I don’t really like to rely on policies our government MIGHT adopt in the future, are there any chances for such an up gradation? Even if they decide to upgrade it, do you think that it’ll beneft the students in any way?

    3. I’m not worried about my placements, as I’m planning to go for post graduation. Since the syllabus is tough, I THINK students will have better chances of scoring higher in their GATE. Is it so ??

    4.I’ve been allotted to CS, any useful info I might need would be really really appreciated 🙂

  5. hi my cat rank is 7651 in gen: category & do not have any sort of reservations. I was not allotted in the 1st allottment.
    Do i have any chance in any of the campus with present condition?
    I ‘ve seen the last rank details2010, & plz tell me about this.

    with the rank 7651 and llooking at the present conditions. predictions can only be made after the second counceling for you !! well keep your eyes open !!

    1) i guess you are a NRI and have not seen anyone from SOE CUSAT…Yes dude .. CUSAT do have Uniform … and you have toi purchase it from CUSAT employees office which is situated right above the Triveni Cofee house Canteen (*sooon you wil be familiar with the terms)
    Here is the uniform uniform

    2)Yes the IIEST report is true… !! But strikes are happening in the campus inorder to avoid IIEST status… .!! we cant say anything about their upgradation desicions….!! the studies are on their way …. once you are in CUSAT it wont affect u i guess !!

    3) Yes CUSAT’s Syllabi is a Quiet tough….. Survival of the fittest !!
    4) CS is really good .. the teaching staffs are quite helpful and many placements happens every year in CS…. !!

  8. @Sahil : Thanks for the reply, ad no I’m not an NRI. I’ve never even boarded a plane before! But you’re right, I’ve never seen anyone from CUSAT in uniform, even though I’m just 1 hour away from the main campus.

    And strikes against IIEST? I thought thats the best thing that could happen to CUSAT. Well, I guess it WILL affect me. you see, once upgraded, the university will be getting heavy funding. So it’d be affecting all of us I guess. Correct me if I’m wrong, at least we’ll be having better placements right!???

    One final question. I know its really irrelevant, but do they have bus service INSIDE the campus? I mean its really huge right? I don’t have a bike and I can’t certainly bring along my bicycle. They expect us to walk??

  10. hey i’ve got two choices in my hand right now… SRM university and cochin university… what would u suggest me to take. Is Cusat one of the top colleges in Kerala??and i got 3000 rank…do u think i will get mech or Ece or EEE in the main campus according to this year’s trend??

  11. One more thing : The foreign language department. I heard they’re offering certificate courses in German. Since Model engg. college and TKM college kollam are affiliated to CUSAT, they too should benefit from the universities’ departments right? I mean if I enroll in a college AFFILIATED (not SOE or CUCEK) to CUSAT, can I still attend those foreign language courses????

(No buses .. their is a public road through out the campus .. buses comes rarely !!)

  13. Yo… you have chance.. and the admission depends on the rush and demand… !! lets wait till the next councelling and we can spot the diff. and we will be sure abt it !!…

    Polymer science and Rubber is also one of the rarest branch of engineering available here…it do have demands… !!

  14. Depends… this year the CUSAT has statred its councelling earlier as possible… !! this has made a rush to the CAmpus… so this year the demands will be higher than the earlier year … so lets wait till the second councelling.. !! i hope you have waiting ranks !!!

    and SRM or CUSAT .. choose it yourself…. i!!

    I`m currently alloted to CS2P ..
    My waitin list status are CS1P 3(KSC)
    n for Marine 9(KSC).General ranks are 3K`s and 2.5K`s resp
    any idea which will be the next alloted option for me buddy ?

    My daughter has a rank 3205 (GEN) in CAT 2011 had waiting list 268 in IT1F seat and 651 in CS1F. Can I expect a seat in second counseling at least ?

  19. The Courses under Department of Foreign languages are
    Certificate courses (a) German (b) Russian (c) French (d) Japanese it must have qualification as : Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognised University. Previous knowledge of the language is not essential.

    and

    Diploma courses (a) German (b) Russian which needs eligiblity of Bachelor’s degree and certificate in the language concerned. Other eligible graduates are also admitted subject to passing the departmental Admission Test.

    every courses can be done as partime and has a Duration as 1 year …

  22. HI….I hav got admission to CS1P which is my 7th option…. i wud like 2 take admission in EE1F … my waiting for that seat is 735 in general and 123 in MSM category….is there any chance dat i get admitted to EE1F

  26. my second allotment waiting status for photonics is 533 in genaral and 63 in ETB.and for polymer is 350 and 53 respectively.could i alloted in third allotment in any one of this? .and what abt photonics ,can it have placements?

  35. i think so… so be patient… nothing else u can do… As you know CUCEK is located in rural area so it is difficult to find hostel accomodation there. for hostel accomodation in CUCEK

    Almost all seats are filled
    .with ur current status it is difficult to get into cusat..
    But there is hope for spot admission.
    So wait for that..

  40. Can any one tell exactly the number of students present in first year classes in various branches ? in cucek it is hardly 50-60% of the total strenght.
