  8. eee is generally tough as mentioned by our friends…
    ec have more job opportunities in the computer field (infosys,wipro,tcs…).
    but ee promises good job if u do well.

    in CUSAT fire and safety and ship technology have high placements approx. 100%.
    others have decent placement and job opportunities..
    photonics is a different subject and have good future..

  10. Chances are rare for u. there is more reservations for keralite. bt i think getting branches like ec,eee,mech, civil are very rare ..

Welcome to CUSAT .. and Welcome to CusatXpress team… branches like Fire and Safety and ship tech offers 100% palcements and a good salary options.. the Core branches also have good placement Oppurtunities in CUSAT… !! Well some years IT will be placed well in Repsectful IT companies… all you have to do is Study well !!!

    My nephew is keralite general category with a rank of 1677 in CAT 2011. What is his prospects? What should be his order of options for branches? Which branch has got best job prospects? Please advice me. I am not aware of these developments. I ask these because I need to fully support him financially for his studies. It will be better he he can get a job immediately after the course so that he can take care of his family. Is there hostel facilities for boys studying for BTech?

    with a 1677 General Keralite rank he has chances for Civil Engineering,CS,Electronics and Communication,Electrical and Electronics Enggineering,INSTrumentation,Mechanical Engineering,Marine Engineering ,polymer Science and Rubber technology,Safety and fire engineering….. all branches except the Ship technology.. the branches like Mechanical , C.S and Safety have good job oppurtunities but safety and fire engineering offers better and good salary options but its risky jobs.. i prefer to go on with mechanical branch,… and let him study well and earn the job.. all the best !!!

  38. Thanks very much. Now another dilema. Is CUSAT better than TKM kollam, Model engineering college trikkakkara and Govt. Engineering college Trichur? If he gets chance any of these college, should he still join Cusat? His plus two marks are really good. Maths, physics and chem are centum. He may hold a chance in Kerala engineering as well. Please put forth your opinion.

    With a Gen rank 6755 and MSM reserv. you have chance for EC,CiVIL and Mech……
    Opt for Both in the order Free main campus, Payement main campus, Free 2nd campus, payement 2nd campus .. in the order of your desired branch !!!! put civil first inorder that it has less demand than bot other branches !! all the best ! 🙂

  88. The aptitude Test for MCA (Test 501) comprises 150 objective type questions designed to test the aptitude and capability of an applicant for pursuing the M.C.A programme. About 50% of the questions will be from Mathematics covering areas of Engineering Mathematics / B.Sc. subsidiary level Mathematics while the remaining questions will be to test the ability of the candidate in logical reasoning based on pictures, geometrical figures, patterns of words, Number Sequence, Set Theory, Logic decoding etc. Applicants for MCA, irrespective of whether or not they are applicants for any other programme, have to necessarily take the Test 501.

  91. You will get IT, Polymer , Instru , Photonics in CUSAT.. Polymer is a good branch with good scope…

  94. You will get every branches in CUCEK expect ME and CE …. placements are same as that of SOE CUSAT… no hostel facilities… you need to accommodate in Privates hostels and paying guest which is available in plenty around the campus

  101. Nope.. i dont know much about the placemnents in SHPNVLARCH..But its the best department in CUSAT… !! Only students with high rank admitted to the branch !! you may ask the details of department at the venue of Counseling !!
