I am X-cusatian from safety & fire branch.Look bro,only placement and package doesn't matter.Health,entertainment,office environment are the only priorities.Computer science,IT,electronics and communication are the best suited branch with job satisfactory and also cs,it are the best branch and one of the oldest branch in cusat.All my friends with these branch are getting the same as mine after two years of job.

You are right,safety and fire gives 100% placement & companies r also ready for paying good but the job is highly risky.We have to work in life risking environment & 4 that company pays u.Many of my batchmates have decided 2 change d field & start preparing for CAT & other MBA entrances.So I would like 2 make clear picture 4 future aspirants who r willing 2 join this branch,that if u want money with risking ur life,then u r welcome or if u want 2 enjoy ur life,have fun,then join cs,ec,it branches.Think 4 it

  21. yes i said hope for every branch… NOTE: Sree must have said that with the general rank she will get only C.S or I.T.. but with MSM rank (If the Expected rank or Low demand ) then there will be chance for every seat …. the MSM reservation cant be trusted , beacuase we dont know when the demand goes up nd only 8% seat.. .. hope for the best… i think with GEN rank u also have only hope in C.S or I.T itself ..

  26. today we had a groups discussion abt this topic nasrin.. and we are now facing this bitter truth … the last ranks provided by the CUSAT CAT website have Given General rank in the MSM reservation Coloums.. means if 5289 is admitted to MSM , then 5289 is not the MSM rank but the general rank of the MSM reservation … !! so .. i’m so sorry to inform you that you have rare chance… but hope for C.S OR I.T in CUSAT !!!

  50. Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a government owned autonomous university. It doesnt need any donations…. !! with the rank 21172 you have rare hopes… !! For the payement seats in CUSAT is for Non-keralites mainly..   93. My branch is civil .. so i prefer civil.
    the four branches have very good placement.
    the good thing about mechcivil is u can join software companies if u wish ..and the usual core companies..
    in case of csit most placements are from software companies(ie, wipro,tcs,infosys,etc…)

  94. u can expect almost every branch. excluding ship technology.
    payment seat approx. Rs.20000+ per sem.. it may vary.
    there are numerous hostel facilities available in and outside campus.
    there are certain areas where north indians go along ..(like territory..:-))
    so dont worry about it

  99. tHEY puts a list of selected students in net before the actual counseling .. its a plain english word na…its just the counseling that the word meant.. you dont have to bother abt the trial allotment… just check whter u r in d trial allotement … if there ensure you chances for a CUSAT seat . !!

  121. No there are many Campus under affiliation of CUSAT which takes admissions through kerala Entrance. The Model Enggineering College of Thrikkakara comes under this category.
    Not listing of Instrumentation was not coz it has importance but including of all branches will bring length to the Webpages and hence dstroying the appereance.
    Instrumentation has no such demands…you may see they have not provided P or F to polymer and ruber also.In Instrumentation and and PSRF the admissions are for free seats in my knowledge…

Hello everyone,my brother including his 4 friends,all from cusat in mechanical engiineering who passed their b.tech on 2009 has been placed now in arcellor mittal with Rs. 25 lakhs p.a. in first two years,then Rs. 32 lakhs p.a.This made mechanical as the best branch & left behind all those branches who claim itselfs as best branch.These package is best till now in history of cusat except i heard of marine eng. & computer science (placement in facebook).So it is my advice to all to prefer cs,mech,marine.

  219. Marine engineering is a different campus . and I surely Don’t know the difference b/w both .. there are some physical criterion to get selected for Marine…. better take C.S .. marine engineers have high salary!

  229. Being a non keralite you will have the payment seat… coz the Free seats are 90 % assigned to Keralites !!

  230. after getting a rank upto 5000 upto which round there’s a chance of getting seats.sometimes upto 3-4 rounds students having 3000 ranks are not alloted any seat.(gen non-keralite)
