Heat of Election To Campus Suspension

The Vice-Chancellor of Cochin University of Science and Technology, J Letha has declared a suspension on regular classes and exams for both PG and UG students for an indefinite period. Yesterday campus witnessed a turmoil after the results of 2017-2018 Election to the General Council – Cochin University Union were declared.

The revised dates for exams will be announced in subsequent dates. It is strictly directed towards all the students (except those who are domiciled outside Kerala) to vacate the hostels and leave the campus immediately).

The waves of election frenzy have led to severe disturbance of tranquility across the campus. Many got injured and hurt severely in the process. Police was forced to interfere to reset the peace and order. Yet again commotions out of political rivalries are turning out to be a cliche, especially during the election hours.

The suspension stays active until 18th December 2017, Monday as of now. There might have an extension in the period if found necessary.
