CUSAT to award grace marks to its student volunteers

Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) will award grace marks in its forthcoming examinations to students involved in flood-relief activities.

Vice Chancellor J. Letha said the varsity would honour its student volunteers at a function to be held in the first week of September, along with teachers and other officials who worked at relief camps. Nearly 130 student volunteers are among the 500-odd persons, including teachers, varsity officials, alumni, IT professionals, and those residing in areas close to the campus, who are engaged in relief operations.

A release said 2,459 persons from the district, including North Paravur, Varappuzha, Koonammavu, Kalamassery, and Aluva, were staying in the 10 relief camps opened at the Cusat School of Engineering, School of Legal Studies, School of Management Studies, and the departments of ship technology, instrumentation, and statistics.
