As a part of Women’s Day Celebration 2019, Women’s Studies Centre (WSC) CUSAT is organizing the event “WOW – Women Of Will” scheduled on 7th of March 2019 at SMS auditorium, CUSAT. Malayalam film actress and theater artist Pauly Valsan will be the chief guest.
WSC honors the following incredible women who have done their part in the realization of gender equality and women’s empowerment.
1. Rekha Karthikeyan – Kerala’s only licensed fisherwomen.
2. Liza Joy – Watch mechanic for the past four and a half decades.
3. Haritha K K – First Indian lady becoming a mate of the fishing vessel,
4. Daya Gayathri – Transgender postgraduate student.
5. Sheeja Prakashan- Auto driver and Chenda artist.
