അപ്പോള് അടുത്ത ചോദ്യം- “പാര്ട്ടിസിപ്പന്റ് ആണോ ?”.
അല്ല- എന്ന് ഞാന് മറുപടി കൊടുത്തു.
“സ്കൂള് ഓഫ് മാനേജ്മെന്റ് സയന്സിലെ സ്റ്റുഡെന്റ് ആണോ?” വീണ്ടും ചോദ്യം.
അല്ല- എന്റെ മറുപടി
ഇത്ര ചോദിച്ച സ്ഥിതിക്ക് കാര്യം എന്താണെന്നു അറിയണമല്ലോ…
“എന്താണ് കാര്യം? ” – എന്ന് ഞാന് ചോദിച്ചു.
“ഇപ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് പുറത്തു നില്ക്കണം. പാര്ട്ടിസിപ്പന്സിനും എസ്. എം. എസ്സിലെ വിദ്യാര്ത്ഥികള്ക്കുമേ ഇപ്പോള് അകത്തു പ്രവേശിക്കാന് കഴിയൂ.”- ഉത്തരം കേട്ട ഞാന് അമ്പരന്നു. പുറത്തു മഴ നനഞ്ഞു ഒരു പറ്റം വിദ്യാര്ത്ഥികള് നില്ക്കുന്നത് എന്ത് കൊണ്ടാണെന്ന് എനിക്ക് മനസ്സിലായി.
“ആവശ്യത്തിനു സീറ്റ് ഉണ്ടല്ലോ ?” – എന്റെ ചോദ്യത്തിനു അവരുടെ മറുപടി രസകരം ആയിരുന്നു.
“ഇപ്പോള് ആള്ക്കാരെ കയറ്റി വിട്ടാല് സീറ്റുകള് എല്ലാം നിറയും. പിന്നെ വരുന്നവര് അടി ഉണ്ടാക്കും.”

കേരളത്തിലെ മാനേജ്മെന്റ് സ്കൂളുകളില് ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനം ഉണ്ടെന്നു അവകാശപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു സ്കൂളിലെ ഒരു വിദ്യാര്ഥിയുടെ ഉത്തരം ആണിത്. ഒരു പരിപാടി നടത്തുമ്പോള് അതിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും ലളിതമായ ഭാഗം ആയ സീറ്റിംഗ് പോലും മാനേജ് ചെയ്യാന് അറിയാത്ത ഇവരൊക്കെ എന്ത് മാനേജ്മെന്റ് ആണാവോ പഠിക്കുന്നത്?
ഞാന് ഒരു ചോദ്യമേ നിങ്ങള് എസ്. എം. എസ്സുകാരോട് ചോദിക്കുന്നുള്ളൂ. എന്നെ തടഞ്ഞ ആ വോളണ്ടിയറോടു ഞാന് ചോദിച്ച അതേ ചോദ്യം.
“നിങ്ങള് ആര്ക്കു വേണ്ടി ആണ് പ്രോഗ്രാം നടത്തുന്നത്?”
“പെണ്കുട്ടികള്ക്ക് വേണ്ടി മാത്രം” – എന്നായിരിക്കും ഒരു പക്ഷേ മാനേജ്മെന്റ് വീക്ഷണകോണില് നിന്നുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്തരം. കാരണം പെണ്കുട്ടികള് ഇല്ലെങ്കില് ഒരൊറ്റ ആണ്കുട്ടി പോലും ആ പരിസരത്ത് ഉണ്ടാകില്ലെന്ന് നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് വ്യക്തമായറിയാം.
എന്റെ ഈ ചോദ്യത്തിന് പല ഉത്തരങ്ങളും കാരണങ്ങളും നിരത്താന് നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് കഴിയുമായിരിക്കും. പക്ഷേ സ്റ്റേജിനു പുറത്തു മഴ നനഞ്ഞു നിന്ന ആള്ക്കാരില് ഒരാളെ എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്താന് കഴിയുമോ എന്ന് ഞാന് സംശയിക്കുന്നു.
ആ വോളണ്ടിയെഴ്സിനോട് ഗുസ്തി പിടിച്ചു അകത്തു കയറാന് ഉള്ള ആവശ്യം ഒന്നും ഇല്ലാത്തതിനാല് ഞാന് അപ്പോള് തന്നെ പുറത്തിറങ്ങി. ഇത് കണ്ട എന്റെ കുറച്ചു സുഹൃത്തുക്കള് എനിക്ക് അവരുടെ പാര്ട്ടിസിപ്പന്റ് ഐ. ഡി. തരാം എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞെങ്കിലും ഞാന് നിരസിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ ഒരു ഐ ഡി കാര്ഡ് ഒപ്പിച്ചു അകത്തു കയറുന്നതിനു ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു ഉണ്ടായിട്ടല്ല. എന്നെ പോലെ തന്നെ അകത്തു കയറാന് കഴിയാതെ മഴ നനഞ്ഞു പുറത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നവരോട് ഞാന് ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു അനീതി ആയിരിക്കും അത്. അത് കൊണ്ട് ഞാന് തിരിച്ചു പോന്നു. ടാലെന്ടൈം പ്രോഗ്രാമിന്റെ കുറച്ചു ഫോട്ടോസ് ഞാന് ഫേസ്ബുക്കില് ഇട്ടിരുന്നു. എന്റെ പ്രതിഷേധത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗം ആയി ആ ഫോട്ടോസ് ഞാന് നീക്കം ചെയ്യുകയാണ്. കുസാറ്റിലെ എസ്. എം. എസ്. വിഭാഗം ഇനി എങ്കിലും ഇത്തരം മണ്ടത്തരങ്ങള് കാണിക്കരുതെന്ന് താഴ്മയായി അപേക്ഷിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് നിറുത്തുന്നു…

Talentime used to be the best and most well organized fest in CUSAT ,the only time when outside students even bothered(or mustered up the courage) coming to CUSAT campus.I am immensely disappointed to hear the “Seating” crisis incident,seems the event planners hadn’t thought the issue through.

There is no seating crisis…Only participants, girl students of CUSAT and SMS Students have entry into the main seating area of the mainstage…The seating capacity of main area is only around 450. This is the system for every talentime….
There is a covered space at the back side for other students….

Answering the question of “Talentime aarkkuvendi ??? ”
This time the organizers were successful in adding more stakeholders to talentime including corporates, school kids and college students across the state…
Girl students of CUSAT is given entry inside the baricade for security reasons…and all CUSAT students know why the organizers made it compulsary for everyone to carry ID cards this time …..
The volunteer at the baricade asked ULLAS the participant ID card or Volunteer Id card and not his CUSAT ID card again…
I agree with sujith here. To manage a pro-show at cusat is immensely difficult and strict rules have to be put in. Rules are rules and it can’t be bent for one or two. This year’s talentime[ from what I heard] was the best we’ve had in the last four years [ which also includes a performance by motherjane] so lets all try to appreciate the gang of soon-to-be managers for pulling this off with minimum fuss.
On the flip side, I do think the publicity for the show was way below par. Even us, the sutdents in cusat had no clue as to what was happening.
