Dhishna 2011 is the upcoming techno-cultural fest of School of Engineering,Cochin University Of Science And Technology proudly known as SOE CUSAT. The name is taken from the Sanskrit and it perfectly conveys the concepts of a better tomorrow and the beauty of the Indian language.Here at Dhishna, we strive to flair our X factor. A factor that sets us aside from the plethora of other tech fests in the region.DHISHNA announces “intellect”. It is an epithet pertinently chosen for it describes the forward momentum of this joint undertaking, all the while embracing the timeless beauty of the Indian language.
Here at DHISHNA, we know ourselves and so we have complemented all this brain churning with an array of Masti-makers to make sure learning is fun again. The singularity of our engagement is the purpose to pay tribute to the people out there whose thoughts and ideas have transmuted into technological marvels. Sadly a substantial share of these people have not received due recognition in contrast to the enrollment they truly deserve. In toasting these people we aim to ignite in ourselves a tendency to think freely and mould our lives towards an “Inspired Destiny”.
DHISHNA is an orchestrated articulation of the ideas and efforts educed from a diversity of seven specialized branches of engineering which harbor potential and talent hailing from across the country. It strives to bring the learning process out of the textbook into the light of holistic understanding by encouraging participation and hosting workshops and tech talks. The unifying factor of DHISHNA is the passion towards technological prowess and it is from this interaction that a structured learning process and a strategic drive is generated to encompass our minds to better understand the different niches of technology.

School of Engineering , CUSAT presents BERSERK – a Rock competition for all the brave bands,daring to mix the passion for metal,zeal and the addictive elements of new age rock.providing an opportunity to mark their signature on the rock scene.Berserk Hopes to blend all the styles of rock and hail originally form bands waiting to make it big.For metal lovers craving for some soaring melodies and epic Energy,Berserk is definitely going to let the punters witness some cool live acts and dry having with sheer excitement. Rules : Competition divided into Two rounds.In the First phase teams are requested to submit a text document introducing themselves and a 15 Min video features at least one own composition.The top ten teams will be selected by virtue of their profiles and video, and these bands will battle it out.The Rock night is scheduled to take place on March 5th 2011
The winners of Berserk,will be given a sum of Rs.25000 and the runner up Rs,10000 along with fabulous goodies.

Its March, and its time to get your REVs right!, Cochin gets ready to stage the biggest ever auto expo in recent times ,”Extra Shift”.
Hosted by the Mechanical engineering students of Cochin University of Science and Technology, this mega event is conducted as part of ” Dhishna ” its annual techno cultural festival.
As a successor to IMPULSE, which had a history of conducting auto shows since 2008, the hype surrounding EXTRA Shift …is amply justified. The show features not only automobiles but also engines, parts, chassis etc. Exhibition stalls of ISRO,The Indian Navy,KAMCO,KSRTC and much more.For hardcore vehicle enthusiasts we showcase cars tuned to their limits!!
