INSTRUCTIONS

1. The admission to B Tech programmes is from the allotment list prepared on the basis of CAT rank, candidate’s options and reservation status of the candidates subject to fulfillment of the eligibility conditions prescribed in the prospectus.
2. Candidates seeking admission for 5 Year Integrated MSc Photonics and B Tech programmes (including Lateral Entry programmes) should invariably register their online options in order to be considered for allotment.

3. The option registration is an online activity requiring internet connection. Through online option registration, candidates can submit their preference for each branch of study.
4. The preliminary step for option registration is the creation of a password. The password should have minimum 8 characters in length and should contain at least one numeral and one special character. For eg abcd123#.
5. The website address is www.cusat.nic.in. There are two links for option registration. One is for new users to create password. The other one is for editing/modifying candidate’s options. Immediately after the password is created, the candidate will be prompted to login again using the new password.

6. Registering options in the website does not guarantee admission in the University which is subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria mentioned in the prospectus. Candidates are responsible for ensuring that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the academic programmes they wish to
join.

7. The verification of eligibility is done in the University after the allotment. Therefore if a candidate registers option for a programme/branch for which he is not eligible, that will adversely affect his chances of getting
admission in the University.

8. For first year B tech programmes, candidates having “Kerallite” status only are eligible for free seats (ie concessional rate of fees) in the School of Engineering (SOE-Thrikkakkara campus), Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering (Thrikkakkara campus) and in Cochin University College of Engineering Kuttanadu (CECEK-Pulincunnoo campus). Others are not eligible for free seats.

However, the online options stored in the University database as on the date and time of closing of online option registration shall be final and no further changes will be entertained after this. The options stored in the University database only will be considered for further processing. Based on the options submitted by candidates allotment will be made at the time of counselling/admission.

12. As soon as a candidate gets allotment against a particular option, all his lower options will be automatically cancelled. However, he/she shall be eligible for automatic updation to his/her higher options unless he/she cancels all his/her higher options in writing.
