All about CUSAT CAT 2014

The Cochin University of Science and Technology has invited applications for its common admission test (CUSAT-CAT) to be held on April 26 and 27 for admission to B.Tech., five-year integrated M.Sc. Photonics, BBA LL.B., B.Com. LL.B. (Honours), LL.M., MCA, M.Sc., MA Hindi and Applied Economics and other courses.

TEST CENTERS

The test centres are district headquarters in Kerala and Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Jamshedpur, Allahabad, Lucknow, Ranchi, Varanasi, Kota, Kolkata and Dubai.

What other ?

The university has also invited applications for the Departmental Admission Test (DAT) for admission to M.Tech., M.Phil., Ph.D. and diploma programmes and the Lateral Entry Test (LET) to the third semester B.Tech. programme. Those with a valid score in the Common Admission Test of the Indian Institutes of Management, the Common Management Admission Test or the Management Aptitude Test can apply for the MBA course. Register online for Cusat-CAT, LET and postgraduate programmes including M.Tech. and MBA from January 20 to February 20 on www.cusat.nic.in or www.cusat.ac.in. International students may register on or before April 21. The departments and schools of the university will issue and accept applications for DAT from January 20 to February 25.

Eligibility

Those who have passed Plus Two with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and minimum 50 per cent marks in aggregate and 50 per cent in Mathematics are eligible to apply for the B.Tech. and integrated M.Sc. Photonics programmes.

But for the B.Tech. course in Instrumentation, the applicant should obtain at least 60 per cent marks in aggregate in Plus Two with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and 55 per cent in Mathematics. The B.Tech. course in Marine Engineering requires at least 60 per cent marks in aggregate in Plus Two with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and at least 50 per cent in Mathematics. Applicants should have secured 50 per cent marks in English in Class 12. The upper age limit is 25. The B.Tech course in Ship Technology requires at least 60 per cent marks in Plus Two and 50 per cent in Mathematics.

Admission to M.Tech. programme is based on the score in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or DAT.

When is CAT 2014. yeah the Dates ?

The test for B.Tech. programmes in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology, Safety and Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ship Technology, Marine Engineering, Polymer Science and Engineering and Instrumentation; the integrated M.Sc. Photonics course; BBA LL.B., B.Com. LL.B. (Honours), MA Hindi; and MA Applied Economics programmes will be held on April 27.

The test for postgraduate programmes including LL.M., MCA, M.Sc. Applied Chemistry, Biotechnology, Electronics Science, Environmental Technology, Hydrochemistry, Industrial Fisheries, Marine Biology, Marine Geology, Marine Geophysics, Mathematics, Meteorology, Oceanography, Physics, Statistics, Instrumentation, M.F.Sc., Seafood Safety, M.Sc. Biopolymer Science and three-year LL.B. will be conducted on April 28.

LET will be held on May 4. The branches available for lateral entry include Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology, Safety and Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science and Engineering and Instrumentation.
