90% BTech CUSAT students got 2016 campus placement

Almost 90 % of CUSAT BTech students have been placed through campus recruitment drive this year.

Almost 400 Cusat BTech students were well placed through campus recruitment drive even before the final year BTech results are out,” according to CUSAT press release.

The maximum pay package offered is Rs 12 lakhs per annum and the average annual pay package is Rs 4.82 lakhs, said G Madhu, principal, School of Engineering, CUSAT.

Out of the 400 placements TCS, a noted IT firm, offered 220 placements. According to the placement officer C.V Premkumar around 44 organizations have already visited the campus for placement drive.

Companies which includes Indian Oil Corporation (Maharatna Company), Bharat Petroleum & Oil India (Navaratna Companies), Reliance Industries, Unisys, Verizon, Amazon, Maxeed Telecom, JWL, IOTL, Musigma, Amadens Labs, Shoretel communications, Corel Technologies, Broad com, L&T, JK Tyre and CEAT

CUSAT Ranked 3rd in the State and 55th best in Nation

Cochin University and Science and Technology has been ranked 3rd in Kerala, and 55th in the whole nation among Engineering Institutions. The rankings have been provided National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) which is approved by MHRD and launched by Honorable Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September, 2015. According to the list the top Institutes in India are,

  1. Indian Institute Of Technology, Madras
  2. Indian Institute Of Technology, Bombay
  3. Indian Institute Of Technology, Kharagpur

and the top institutes in Kerala are,

  1. Amrita School Of Engineering (Ranked 31)
  2. National Institute Of Technology, Calicut (Ranked 35)
  3. Cochin University Of Science And Technology-Cochin (Ranked 55)

The rankings are based on “Teaching, Learning and Resources”, “Research and Professional Practices”, “Graduation Outcomes”, “Outreach and Inclusivity” and “Perception” from 2012 to 2015 academic years.
