Android..Heir to the Apple Throne???

Google’s new Google+ beta testing might not be yielding the results they have been hoping for ,but the success of their Android Os more than makes up for it.Some of the major phone manufacturers like HTC ,Samsung,LG,Sony Eriksson have released android phones which are gradually taking over the Iphone dominated market(take that Steve Jobs),while Nokia is suffering huge losses due to their refusal to adopt Android OS.The main features which make them attractive are the Android market,a place where you can download any app you need by paying is necessary ,though thousands of free ones are readily available(Youtube downloaders, navigation software’s,document reader’s etc being some of them). It’s just like a computer in that regard, something doesn’t work, download a software to make it work.

Snaps That Changed The World

Ok i came across this article the other day and immediately thought of my numerous friends who are avid “Shutterbugs”.Take note that these are photographs which had some kind of political, cultural or scientific impact on the society and therefore you may not find some really popular ones in here.Like the “Afghan Girl” by Steve McCurry So here is a list of the photography that literally “Changed” humankind [1]Omaha Beach, Normandy, France” Robert Capa, 1944 “If your pictures aren’t good enough,” war photographer Robert Capa used to say, “you aren’t close enough.” Words to die by, yes, but the man knew of what he spoke.

The illustrous Ragging Poster

Well you might have seen this board in front of NLB just past our college gates….not a cozy way of welcome to be sure but this can be excused considering the wide notoriety CUSAT has for ragging. What cant be excused is the grammatical blunders in the poster “a gentleman never hurts the feeling of others”,i am no expert but i am sure it should be worded “a gentleman never hurt’s the feeling’s of others”(correct me if i am wrong).Even then it’s one of the most weak anti-ragging statement i have ever read.Nobody is going to look twice at this sentence when nobody wants to be a gentleman(so 1950)..bad boy is pretty much in style these days.It also excludes ladies from it which is weird considering the many reported cases of ragging among them. The only effective anti-ragging slogans are direct and decisive. It should outline the laws and punishments in store for
